Making Your Garden The Most Useful Part Of Your Home

Image link from Flickr

What is currently the most useful part of your home? The bathroom, where you take a long, hot shower each morning? The kitchen stove that allows you to prepare delicious home cooked meals? Well, how about scrapping that and making your garden the most useful part of your home.

Our pieces of outdoor land, whether they’re little nuggets or acres to put Winnie The Pooh to shame, can be so useful. From adding extra space for living or studying in, right through to allowing us to make our own food for ourselves, neglecting you garden is never wise. So, without any further ado, let’s take a look at three ways that you can make your garden the most useful part of your home!

Use Number 1: Adding Living Space

Whether you’re cramped for space inside your home or have enough room to swing a cat, there is always value in adding living space. Build your own garden shed, and turn it into a chill-out den! A bookshelf, a kettle and a set of fairy lights will make the perfect reading nook. Or, make it a games room and surprise your S/O with it on his birthday! There are loads of other uses too. Do you love having guests, but do they always have to sleep on your sofa? Then build a summer house and fit it with a sofa bed! This way you can use the room both day and night; handy! Just don’t forget to hook it up with electricity so you can use it in every season, also.

Use Number 2: Growing Your Own Food

Cauliflowers fluffy, and cabbages green! If you’ve not yet planted a vegetable patch in your garden, what are you waiting for! Not only will this save you a fortune each year (some estimate more than £1,000 a year!), it will also give you major satisfaction. Take it one step further, and get some chickens to lay you your eggs. These Cocoon coops are so nice looking, they make a cool looking garden addition with or without the chickens! On the topic of decoration, plant different herb seedlings into soil inside wellington boots. Then nail these old wellington boots into you garden wall, fencing or trellis. Not only does this make a really cool garden feature, but it also means that you don’t have to go far for things like Thyme, Basil, and Oregano!

Use Number 3: Make You Some Money!

Do you live near a beach, or mountain, or river, or forest? Or, in fact, anything that people travel to visit and spend time in or on? Then you could use a currently empty patch of grass to make you some money! Hire it out for people to erect their own tent on, and allow them to sleep there. You could even go one further and provide the tent and sleeping bags yourself! Just bear in mind that you may need to give them a key to use your bathroom during their stay also!

Is On A Diet!

I cannot deny the fact that my little one is growing so fast. Some says, he is big compared to others in his age. My little one is 11 years old but boy he is taller and bigger than I am. I sometimes wonder how tall he will be after few years.

Few days ago, I asked him to fit his boy scout uniform, his barong tagalog and black pants because he will be wearing those soon. I am not surprised when the scout uniform and barong tagalog is a little tight but I was disappointed that the black pants doesn't fit him anymore. I am sad, because I need to buy a new one. He is going to wear the barong and black pants next week for their Buwan ng Wika program.

With this, I and the little one agreed that he will be on a diet so the barong and the scout iniform will not be too tight when he wears it. I am not actually sure if this diet thing will be a success. Knowing my son, it will be a lot of work and courage to minimize his food intake.

Reasons You Might Need A Neurologist

Despite being one of the most commonly needed specialists in medicine, many patients are confused about what exactly a neurologist does. The short answer is that a neurologist diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system and brain. This rather broad definition isn't enough to satisfy most people who are sometimes frightened when they learn that they need to see a neurologist. There are a number of disorders that a neurologist might treat.

Common disorders treated by neurologists
- Concussions
- Alzheimer's disease
- Injuries of the spinal cord and brain
- Strokes
- Parkinson's Disease

These are but a few of the disorders that neurology specialists Houston based doctors encounter on a daily basis. Each one of these disorders is something millions of patients must cope with on a daily basis. A good neurologist has been specially trained to understand these disorders and keep current with the latest treatments for them. Neurologists may be able to diagnose the disorders but if surgery is required, it is neurosurgeons who perform the actual surgery. Training is just part of what makes a neurologist good at what they do. Beyond the knowledge is the way that they treat patients and their attention to detail.

Compassionate patient care

Neurologists are just like any other medical professional. While highly trained and incredibly intelligent, they must show their patients a high level of compassion and attention in order to be good at what they do. Hiring qualified office staff is also a part of a neurologist's duties because who they surround themselves with often determines how well their practice is received by patients. The office itself should be comfortable and the staff must be welcoming, highly trained, and ready to answer questions. Because neurology is an often very specialized field, patients often don't understand why they are being asked to see a neurologist. This makes bedside manner all the more important. The staff in a neurologist's office often needs to go into extra detail and explain their treatments further because many patients aren't familiar with this medical specialty.

Anyone who has been referred to a neurologist can know that they've been referred to one of the most highly trained of all medical professionals. Neurologists studied and are now practicing one of the most highly complex forms of all medicine andh they usually do so expertly.

What You Must Remember Before Owning A Large Dog

Large dogs can be amazing companions. Not everybody wants a tiny little dog that they can fit in their handbag, right? Large dogs are considered ‘real dogs’, and these are the kind of dogs associated with being man’s best friend. However, there are some crucial things you need to bear in mind before you decide to own a large dog.

Dog’s Get Bigger

Your puppy may be tiny and cute. They may even have that baby dog smell, much like baby humans have. All of these things make us bond with them, love them, and make them a part of our families. However, you need to remember that dogs get bigger. What constitutes as a large dog for you, may only be a medium dog to somebody else. You need to do your research, finding out how large certain breeds tend to get. Then you can be prepared. You need to make sure you have the time and energy for them, as well as enough time to walk them and keep them occupied. Don’t let the novelty wear off once your dog isn’t a cute little puppy anymore.

All Large Dogs Are Different

All large dogs are different. Some are more loyal, some are better with children, and some have more of a ‘royal’ demeanor. You need to be prepared for the personality they tend to develop, so you know what to expect. Most large dogs will need walking and lots of stimulation, but they can be different when it comes to who they like to spend their time around, and their personality traits. Their common health issues will vary too, so be aware of those so you know what to look out for.

Space, Time and Money

Space, time, and money are some of the most important things when owning any dog, let alone a large dog. That being said, you must have the space required for a large dog. It isn’t fair on them to keep them in confined spaces, and they’ll be much happier with a large garden to run around and play in. You’ll probably need more time for a large dog, so you can play with them and walk them. Don’t forget about training them either! This can take a lot of time, but if you start doing it as early on as possible, it’s likely your dog will be very obedient and happy with you. Failing to train your dog can result in disobedience and many other issues!

One big issue many people have with dogs is money. If you don’t have the money to care for your dog properly, you shouldn’t have one. You need to pay for the dog, the vet bills, the food, the toys - and everything else associated with owning a dog. For large dogs, things like are helpful. Using things like that should help you save money on toys. Large dogs tend to destroy things easily!

Remember these things before owning a large dog and you should both be very happy together!

How to Avoid Being Bugged by Mosquitos

Summer is the season when people everywhere can finally get outdoors and enjoy warm weather activities, but mosquito bites can put a serious damper on the fun. While most mosquito bites are not serious, some potentially fatal diseases can be spread by these pesky flying blood suckers.

West Nile disease is a mosquito born virus that has been a problem in certain parts of the country within the past few decades. The virus causes encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain that can have serious neurological effects or even cause death in about one percent of those infected. West Nile Virus seems to affect horses even more than humans; perhaps because most horses live outside during the summer months. Once a horse has been infected with the virus, there is a 30 percent chance that it will die from the disease. There is a vaccine that can be administered to protect horses from West Nile, but it is not 100 percent effective and is also very costly.

Considering the fact that there doesn't seem to be any benefit from the existence of mosquitos, as well as the itchy bites they inflict on humans, eliminating them seems like a really good idea. One of the most effective ways to prevent the larvae from hatching is through the use of a mosquito water trap. This ingenious device entices the adult female to lay her eggs in the standing water contained in the trap. The water in the trap has been conditioned through the use of tablets that kill the larvae before they can hatch.

Mosquitoes always lay their eggs in water since standing water is required for the eggs to hatch into larvae and quickly grow into adult mosquitoes. The newly hatched adults then seek out a supply of blood and the cycle begins all over again. While insect repellents and citronella candles can protect humans to some extent, there will always be a few mosquitoes that successfully find a new supply of blood. The best approach is to completely eliminate any standing water available other than the mosquito deleter traps.

Rest In Peace!

As of this typing my mind is wandering around. In fact, I changed my blog post title thrice. Thinking of an appropriate blog post title seemed difficult because I have lots of thoughts in mind.

First, I havent overcome losing three relatives in less than a month. It was July 18 when I recieved a message from my cousin that his father passed away. On July 29 we lost granny's sister. And last Tuesday, August 2 my Uncle passed away. He was living alone since his long time live in partner died few years back. Our family faced some difficulties because my Uncle doesn't have any money and life insurance. But thanks God we were able to give him a decent funeral. I figure, nothing is difficult if everybody in the family will lend hand. May it financially or not. Although we will still be facing some expenses ahead because of my Uncle I am certain that we will surpass everything.

If there is one thing I am grateful is that they are with our Creator. No more pain and suffering.

Rest in Peace in Tay Panoy, Mommy Opyang and Tito Sendoy.
