3 Tips for Choosing A Groomer

Did your boxer trek through the mud again? Or maybe you just need someone to brush your husky before your entire home drowns in his winter coat. Whatever your reasons for seeking out a dog grooming business, here are just three tips for choosing the right one.

1. Look Into Their Credentials Many professional groomers have some kind of certification or designation that marks them as an expert in their field. They might also have memberships with groups like the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA) or International Professional Groomers, Inc (IPG). Look for these qualifications before entrusting your dog to just anyone.

2. Tour Their Facilities Where will your dog be bathed? What kind of tools and machines do they have for other grooming procedures? Don't be afraid to ask for a tour of their building or grooming station. Most groomers will be more than happy to set your mind at ease about their practices.

3. Consider Price Your dog may deserve the best, but that doesn't mean you have to pay exorbitant fees for it. Compare and contrast the fees of various groomers in your city. How much do they charge for nail clipping? Do they offer any special deals or packages for first-time customers?

These are just three things to keep in mind while searching for a dog groomer. Fido needs TLC just as much as anyone else in your family, so make sure you do your research and choose someone worth your time.

All the ideas and opinion are not mine.
